Rehabilitation and prehabilitation exercises are the tools that will restore balance between opposing muscles and the resulting forces transmitted across joint surfaces. Rehabilitation is designed to help an individual recover from their injury by basing the exercise prescription on weaknesses and deficits demonstrated during the physical exam. Prehabilitation is designed to prevent common injuries from occurring based on an individual’s sport requirements and results of a movement screen. Prehabilitation can also prepare and individual for surgery and by building strength & other factors prior to the surgery so that recovery period (rehabilitation) is shortened.
